Nov. 15 - Common Sense Health Care

Chelsea and Apollonia are jointly presenting the discussion topic "Common Sense Health Care" next Sunday. They will cover the pros and cons of the American health(?) care system, and describe what it can and can not do for you. They'll even tell you how you can be a more effective advocate for yourself "in the system" and ways of finding treatment outside the system. Give it some thought and bring an open mind to the meeting.

The meeting will be at Dalton's House, from 10:30 AM until 12 AM Sunday morning. Coffee and snacks will be provided. Please email Dalton at dalton.mckeon@gmail.com for driving directions if you'd like to come.

This Sunday's discussion was lively. John led the discussion, and outlined why atheists are well positioned to create more equitable and effective moral codes because they are not distracted by arcane religious superstitions, and draw their conclusions by using reason on information (what an idea!). Furthermore, he explained that atheists are more likely to care about morals because the lack of a sacrosanct belief system naturally impels individual atheists to pro-actively review the morals of their community.

The Secular Fellowship is soliciting discussion topic ideas and community service project proposals. Please send any ideas to secularfellowship@gmail.com and I will collect and organize them.
